Watercolour of an otter with a kokedama, Metsleauencouleur studio

The studio

In every watercolour there is an animal watching, a plant unfurling, an object with a story to tell. Inhabited, living scenes, painted with precision, poetry and elegance.

Each piece is painted on cotton paper, with watercolours and tools sourced from small makers and artisan brands. Because the studio, the tools and the colours are part of the joy of creating.

The story

It all started on Instagram: the urge to share a passion and to meet other watercolour lovers. This site is the natural next step of that adventure.

Here I share my practice, my discoveries and what happens behind the scenes, and I hope my watercolours will find their way to your home, bringing a little poetry and calm with them.

I am Méloée. My watercolours draw on the beauty of nature, the elegance of living things and Japanese aesthetics. Each piece is an invitation to slow down and admire the world around us.
